Born, a village formerly inhabited by farmers, fishermen and sailors, is situated at the brackwater side of the Darss peninsula. Visitors pass dreamy half-timbered houses with characteristic thatched roofs walking on small cobblestone roads.

Spacious heath lands and glades as well as the adjacent National Park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft" invite you to walking or bicycle tours and nature hikes during all seasons of the year. Very spectacular are the migration of the cranes and the rutting seasons of the stags.

You get to the rough west beach in 15 minutes by bike; only a few minutes it takes you to get to the wide sand beaches in the north of the peninsula.
